Cupcakes

I thought I would get baking - in honour of my friend who has been baking cupcakes like a crazy thing to raise money and awareness of Ovarian Cancer. She did a really good job and raised lots of money. Good work! Also my lovely opposite door flat mate and I are having a bit of a swap shop lending things backwards and forwards and it was about time I returned a favour after Liv bought me some quinoa (I know posey health food - Mum and Gem you should get eating it!). Gem I can't wait till we can bake again once we're back in Derby - our house this time so Tim can't complain about me making a mess!

Went out last night till quite later than we normally do. Just woke up at half 10! It was fun to be out with Gareth and we went for a lovely meal followed by a friend's leaving party. I think I will have take-in all day today - hooray!

Haircut

After months of meaning to try a hairdresser that a friend recommended - thanks Liv! I finally made it to an appointment. Ky was amazing and did a great job on making my hair look somewhat manageable. He even managed to tame it to look straight and shiny - for one night anyway. Gem here are some pictures of me especially for you - the weird cheeks are back that got in our photos at Christmas?!

Hong Kong Marathon

We were in Hong Kong last weekend for Gareth's marathon. He did really well and was very pleased with finishing - despite the heat and 95% humidity, which was a shame as the week before was quite cold. As I was waiting there were lots of people being wheeled over the finish line on stretchers with drips in their arms. I was getting a bit worried for him but he came across the line pale but still in one piece. He has his sights set on the London Marathon next - which should be much easier not having to train and run in 35/40C heat.

I had fun doing a bit of shopping and catching up with some friends on the Saturday night, while leaving Gareth tucked up in the hotel room. I felt very independent traveling around HK by myself. It really is quite easy once you get the hang of the tube and ferries. I had a lot of fun!

Now we're back at school it's been a busy couple of weeks. I have my observation tomorrow. I really hope it goes well but I am feeling very nervous. After that just 4 weeks until we go to Thailand for our last beach holiday before we head back to the UK. I really can't wait now!
