Being domestic goddess

As part of my mission to convince Gareth that I would be better off at home every day, rather than at work, and in order to appreciate and make the most of my last days of holiday; I have been busy baking, cleaning, tidying and generally getting organised at home. I go back to work on Monday and after a nine week holiday it will be a real shock to the system. Today I got all my paperwork sorted - who knew that changing my surname would be so complicated? Anyway here are a few pics of my accomplishments today. I am especially proud of my hugely tall loaf of bread (too much yeast?).
The entrance to our cosy, little upstairs apartment (I just chopped a load off this tree as it kept hitting us in the face as we came up the path):Chocolate cake mmmmmmmm:Mega-bread:

Lovely home

Our new quilt made by Mum.We went out to town today and took some vouchers with us from the wedding. There was a big sale on and we were able to pick up a lovely lamp. I have lots of candle holders in the same style on the was from Vietnam so I think they will look lovely together. It's very exciting making our house so homely. I can't wait for our shipping to arrive now. I really hope it will get to us before I have to go back to school.

Crazy Guernsey - The West Show

At the beach

Out and about in Derby

We decided to go out a few weekends back in Derby. Gareth had the great idea of getting a bus into town. Unfortunately we didn't really think it through. We left as it began to rain and realised that we didn't actually know how far the bus stop was from our house. We eventually found it but realised that it was the wrong one and didn't have buses into town. We then walked to our local and arrived soaked through. I had to dry off with the hand-dryer in the toilets. We felt much better after a bottle of wine!

London

This is a painting of mine that I had to chuck as we just don't have space. I thought I would take a pic before binning it. I find that photos of paintings are always better than the real thing! We had a lovely few days in London. We went to the Barbican Centre to see the Surrealist Exhibition. I loved the weird films. We also cleared out Gareth's parents' loft so we now have almost everything we own under one roof. Just my stuff in Guernsey to add to it and we'll really be living in a proper home.
