4 months old

Rebecca is 4 months old now. We have been really busy this September starting all her new activities and seeing lots of her cousins with Auntie Gemma. She is loving swimming and the bonus for me is that it makes her super sleepy so I can get a nap if I time it right! She also loves baby sensory, especially singing and signing to songs. I have met lots of other mums too, so it's been a good thing for me. I have also started orchestra. I hope I can keep it up, as it gets colder and darker, because it doesn't finish until 9.45pm - a bit late for me! Rebecca is really growing up now. She laughs a lot and smiles at things other than faces now - she especially likes smiling at a set of Mexican postcards that we have framed in our bedroom - very strange...

Sleepy day

Rebecca has had a very sleepy time today and by the lack of noise coming from the bedroom it seems that she's even gone to sleep on time too. I think she's been a bit under the weather. I know I shouldn't complain about a sleeping baby as many other people would love that, but it is unusual for her. This week she has been quite active though. Here are some pictures of her rolling about, lifting her head and having a go on her new bouncer, which she really loves!

Friends to visit

This week Jenny came up to see us with her baby Jessica. She and Rebecca were so cute together although neither of them really acknowledged one another and spent most of the time sleeping. At least Jenny and I got to have a good chat.
On Sunday we had a BBQ with our NCT friends. It was so lovely to see everyone but again the babies mostly slept and didn't get a chance to play together at all!
Rebecca had a really bad night last night. She has been so good and seems to have gone back to newborn days of feeding every few hours. It's hard now that my brain had adjusted to waking up only once or twice.We think she could be teething as she is biting on everything, dribbles everywhere and has quite rosy cheeks. I hope it passes soon and she can sleep again, especially as Gareth is back to school tomorrow.

13 weeks old

We've had a busy week. Our bathroom is now finished and Gareth has put up both stair gates. They are a bit of a pain but necessary especially as our stairs are so steep. Rebecca is getting really good at holding things now and reaches out to take a toy. She is talking a lot more and has managed a few little giggles. She has started rolling to her left and can travel in a full circle on her mat now. Every time we look away when we look back she is in a different place. I hope it's not too soon that she starts to roll right over and move about even more because it's so easy at the moment. She is also getting really good at bed time and sleeps through until 6am with one feed. She went to bed with her bottle from Gareth today at a record early time of half 7pm, which is good as I start orchestra soon and will need her to feed with her dad.

Cousins

We had a lovely day on Sunday when Rachael, James and their girls came to visit. We all had lunch thanks to Gem and Tim then went off to a farm. The girls were great with the babies and got in lots of cuddles. It was a very weird day really sunny one minute and quite cold and windy the next. It does feel like Autumn is on the way. I am so pleased Rebecca arrived when she did as the long days and short nights really helped me stay positive during night time feeds!

Guernsey

We had a nice break in Guernsey. I caught up with lots of friends and Rebecca got lots of cuddles from family. This week she just started really chatting and makes some good high-pitched sounds now. She loves her hands and we can't stop her sucking her thumb and trying to put her whole hand into her mouth. I just hope that she's not teething just yet as she's getting very dribbly.

Total exertion

Rebecca is trying so hard to waggle along her mat. But it takes some effort as you can hear! She's not getting far at the moment - hope it stays that way for a while.
